A Dinner Event with Jade Beall
"How Truthful Photography Can Transform Lives"

7-Minute Spotlight
Amy Kalama-Hochreiter

Wednesday, March 20, 2019
6pm – 8pm  Dinner Event

Three things you will learn at this event:

  • the transformative power of photography
  • the power of vulnerability
  • why we need more truth in photography

Five weeks after giving birth to her child, Jade took a photo of herself 50 pounds heavier than she'd ever been - no touch-ups, no filters, no Photoshop.

For years, she had struggled with body dysmorphia, so, "When I first looked at those photos I wanted to pass out. They were so hard for me to look at."  Soon, however her perspective completely changed.  "Now I look at them, and I just see such a beautiful woman that's a new mother."

Once Jade took that self-portrait, she was finally able to face her decades of self-loathing, the floodgates opened for other women, and, quite unwittingly, she started a movement.

In her talk, Jade will explain how, by being vulnerable herself, showing her body as it really is, and calling it beautiful, changed her life forever.

Her photography is now focused on doing portraits of men, women, couples, and people of all walks of life and experiences.  As she says, "I love people more than they have ever loved themselves."
